An Orioles Legend Joins the Scott Garceau Show

Boog Powell, former Baltimore Orioles player, joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Femi Ayanbadejo.

Boog joined the guys and they talked first and foremost about what everyone is talking about today… The drama in the Bronx.   Scott asked him what he thought about the game last night and he stated "I have to admit I kinda gave up when the Orioles fell behind and started making errors and throwing the ball all over the place.  I went to sleep." He stated he did wake up about an hour after the game and continued watching.
Boog stated he did wonder "If that game would have meant something whether they would have walked him or not in that situation."  Scott stated he knows baseball more than the guys and Boog said he would have probably walked him.   Knowing that the Orioles clinched the division is more than likely the only reason Buck pitched to Jeter due to the situation.   He talked about how baseball players and most athletes feel about each other. "It's not that you don't want to go out and beat them, you want to beat them every day. You still respect them for what they are, we all go out there and are trying to do the same thing, accomplish the same goal."
Jeremy and Femi spoke with Boog about his feelings on the Orioles moving  forward.  "It's been a pleasant surprise after what we have watched for the last while.  "We owe a lot to the pitching coach.    It seems like it's a miracle they are where they are.  I think Buck has got the job done and given them the confidence they need to get the job done."
Boog has a new book out called Baltimore Baseball & Barbeque with Boog Powell.  He said there is a lot of fun stuff in there and some stories he hasn't told.  He said he left a lot out and thought about a lot after he finished it.   Copies of his book are sold at Walmart, Barnes and Nobles and Amazon.
