Female Fans Spent A Purple Evening At Ravens Stadium

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—From their first days here, the Ravens have made it their mission to get more women in their fan base.

As Mike Schuh reports, an event called "A Purple Evening" took over the stadium Monday night.

If you're a fan, who could resist a picture in the end zone? Or in the locker room? Or a selfie with Matt Elam?

Exactly. No fan could resist.

All of the participants were women.

"Absolutely, a big Ravens fan," one woman said.

The players who attended ranged from a rookie who just caught his first touchdown to a household name like Torrey Smith.

You could see the excitement on the fans' faces. To get this kind of access to the stadium and to the players made this night, where the team thanks it's female fans, worth the $40 entry fee.

"It has been awesome, amazing," one attendee said.

"Hey, Baltimore! We support the purple evening every year at M&T Bank Stadium," one woman said.

Precious few of us will ever catch a pass at Ravens stadium, so to do so is a moment to remember.

"Ravens night out, it was fun!" one woman said.

It appears the Ravens plan to increase the number of female fans is doing just fine.

This event is an outgrowth of previous efforts, including "A Women's Festival" and "Football 101."
