ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A cyclist was hospitalized after crashing into another cyclist during a group ride in Anne Arundel County.

The Capital of Annapolis reports that the collision occurred in Crownsville just before 10 a.m. on Sunday during the Lifeline 100 Anne Arundel County Century Ride. Police say a 53-year-old man was taken to the hospital. The other cyclist was not hospitalized.

More than 500 cyclists participated in the ride on Sunday, tackling 15- 56- and 100-mile routes.

The proceeds from the event will be donated to various nonprofit organizations.
