BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is hoping the city council will change their minds about their plan to ban plastic bags in the city.

The city council originally planned to charge a five cent fee on plastic bags but have since changed it to become an outright ban on the bags. They haven’t asked for public opinion on this change.

The mayor has said she will veto the bill.
