Rain will continue to move across the region this afternoon and may be heavy at times.

High resolution models have the rain tapering to showers during the late afternoon and then clearing out by 5 p.m. It is what’s behind the rain that will really grab your attention.

Cold air infiltrates the region while winds pick up out of the west and northwest. We will drop into the mid 20s tonight, so that means there may be a few slick spots (particularly on bridges, overpasses and sidewalks).

By Tuesday, some sunshine will return, but it will not help to warm us up at all. Highs will only make it into the low/mid 30s and when you factor in the winds . . . it will FEEL LIKE the teens & 20s out there. This means have your winter arsenal ready to go for Tuesday because it is going to feel like the middle of winter!
