Md. Flags At Half-Staff For Pearl Harbor Day

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Flags in Maryland will be flying at half-staff in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Sunday marks the 73rd anniversary of the 1941 Japanese attack on the Pearl Harbor Naval Base in Hawaii. About 2,400 sailors, Marines and soldiers died in the attack, which drew the United States into World War II.

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley ordered the United States and Maryland flags to be flown at half-staff throughout the state Sunday in honor of those who died.
