Orioles Rumors From The Winter Meetings

Steve Melewski of MASN Sports checks in live from San Diego at the MLB Winter Meetings to talk about all the news and rumors surrounding the Orioles. The big story heading into the winter meetings was Dan Duquette possibly eyeing the Toronto Blue Jays CEO position. Steve does not believe that Duquette will be leaving the birds anytime soon. "Unless something changes, it doesn't seem like Duquette is going anywhere right now. That was obviously a major deal Sunday. When we arrived he was on our flight, he didn't want to comment but then later he did do the MLB Network Radio interview. Peter Angelos then made his comments. I don't know how or why that got out, but then now they're saying Paul Beeston will stay on through 2015. So it's much to do about nothing it seems to be unless something more develops moving forward."

Scott asked Steve if he believes that the Orioles are going to get a deal done by the time that the Winter Meetings wrap up. "I do, but fans don't drive out the road, I think it's something small. I think it seems like they're working in the neighborhood right now for an outfielder and something short term, either acquiring an outfielder who may just have one year left on his contract or signing one who may come at a lower price for a year or two."
