Steve Davis: So What Now For Chris Davis?

Buck broke the news on Norris & Davis Tuesday, that Chris Davis received permission (Therapeutic Use Exemption) from MLB to use Adderall for the 2015 season.

The whole scenario is somewhat bizarre. Apparently, he had permission when he was with the Rangers. He was traded to the Orioles in 2011, and applied with MLB for an exemption again in 2012 and was denied. He didn't apply again for 2013 and 2014, according to reports.

We have a lot of questions:
How often did he use it when he was approved?
Why was he not approved?
Why did he stop trying?
Why is he approved now, again?

I don't know that those questions will be answered. So, here's the biggie: will it help him?

I'd like to know how much he used it in the past. Did he use it in 2013 when he belted 53 homers, and not get caught, or was he fine without it?

How much did he use it in 2014 before he got caught, because whatever he was doing wasn't working? It's not like he was an unbelievable player when he was approved to use it with the Rangers. Remember, they traded him away.

I know I am asking more than answering questions here. It's because this is such a puzzle. If he didn't use it in 2013, then we can't assume that by using it in 2015 it will drastically fix whatever went wrong in 2014. The Orioles are counting him to be much better in 2015 than last year. I am not so sure that is a reasonable expectation with what little info we have at our disposal right now.
