WEATHER BLOG: Dry And Seasonable

After a relatively nice day yesterday reaching a high of 42 at BWI-Marshall and 40 at Inner Harbor, things will continue to remain dry and seasonable to start our weekend.

An area of high pressure will nose down from the north today, allowing for dry conditions. However, there will be a weak upper level disturbance moving through, which will make for more clouds than sunshine throughout the day.

Temperatures will be seasonable near 40 around the region. Similar conditions will persist into Sunday, as the upper level disturbance continues to push through the region. By

Sunday afternoon, conditions should trend sunnier with temperatures in the low 40s.

By Monday, high pressure will slowly push east of the region, allowing winds to shift to the southwest. Temperatures will get into the mid 40s with some places pushing 50 despite clouds. By afternoon, we may see a bit of rain break out. By Monday night, light rain will continue as a sharp upper level trough advances toward the region, and low pressure develops in the Tennessee River Valley.

This system will push into the Great Lakes allowing for warm air and copious moisture to stream into the east. This will play a big role in our weather on Tuesday and Wednesday, two of the bigger travel days of the year.

On Tuesday, light rain will continue across the region as temperatures warm into the 50s. This sporadic light rain will continue into Tuesday night before periods of heavier and steadier rain impacts the region during Wednesday.

Temperatures Wednesday will spike to near 60 as we are entrenched in the warm sector of this system. Rain will shut off Wednesday evening, and colder air will rush in behind this system. By Christmas Day, temperatures will only be in the mid 40's and we may even see some sunshine.
