Fans Celebrate After Ravens Clinch Final AFC Wild Card Spot

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- With Sunday's win over Cleveland and San Diego's loss to Kansas City, the Ravens clinch the final AFC wild card spot.

Marcus Washington reports there was a lot of excitement and celebration all across town after the big win.

As the time clock started winding down, fans went wild because they knew the Ravens were playoff bound.

Hours after the Ravens secure a spot in the playoffs, fans continue to celebrate throughout the night.

At Mother's in Federal Hill, Ravens fans say Sunday's win is just the beginning of what they are hoping is a long postseason.

"We have a lot of injuries, our secondary is not where they need to be, but we need to get it together. And we're going to get it together. New season starts Saturday, and we're ready," said Despinia Moniodis.

The celebration isn't just for the Ravens' win, but the San Diego Chargers' loss, sending Ravens Nation into postseason.

"After last year with the upset of us not going to the playoffs last year, it's so invigorating," said Nhandi Singleton.

"It really excites me and I'm just happy that they actually pulled it off," David Moorefield said.

Prior to 2013, the Ravens made it to the playoffs five years straight. They say this year, they're happy to be back.

"Playoffs. Can you say playoffs? That's right. Baltimore Ravens. Ravens Nation, baby. Let's do it!" said one Ravens fan.

"It was a tough game, man, but we won. I can't believe it. It was down to the last quarter," said another.

Outside M&T Bank Stadium after the game, fans couldn't hold back their excitement.

"The Ravens keep me on the edge of my seat every time I come to see them. I loved today's game, and we're going to the playoffs," one Ravens fan said.

The Ravens will head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers on Saturday night.
