Purple Pride Abounds As Ravens Prepare To Take On Patriots

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Let the countdown begin! We're just days away from the second game of our mighty Ravens in the playoffs!

Marcus Washington reports purple pride is already continuing.

When the Ravens clinched that victory Saturday night, fans went wild---and the cheering hasn't stopped.

Right now, the Ravens are hot and they are taking their fans---new and old---along for this post-season ride.

"And I am from Jamaica and I never knew about this football game and now I know this football game and I'm a...die-hard Ravens fan now. I'm in Baltimore and I love it," said Fitz Nelson.

In support, members of Ravens' grounds crew are painting the town purple...and not just Baltimore! Look at the Towson Courthouse and McDaniel College in Westminster, where weather conditions didn't stop the support.

"Very windy but very nice to be out here," said one fan.

Coming into the playoffs as a wildcard, some doubted the Ravens but the team went into Pittsburgh and defeated their biggest rival 30-17.

"This is a great day. It's going to be a great series. Let's go, Ravens!" said a fan.

Being in this position is very familiar for fans and the Ravens. It almost mirrors the 2011/2012 season, when they clinched the Super Bowl champions title.

Fans are hoping the Ravens will leave its mark post-season, ending with a ring.

"A win's a win; that's all we need, right?" said a fan.
