Jeremy Conn: Bike MS Chesapeake Challenge

My wife was diagnosed with M.S. a little over a year ago. I've tried to do as much as I can to help raise awareness and money for the cause. One thing that's really important to my wife is the Bike MS event she rides in to help raise money and awareness. I'm not saying it just because she is my wife, but she is the most honest and sweetest person I have ever met and I wish I could trade places with her everyday. She has to take her medicine by injection 3 times a week. With events like Bike MS and the MS Walks they are helping to raise money to improve the medicine. I'm hoping with my platform at the radio station that we can raise money and get the word out. So please donate if you can or at least share this and help me spread the word.

Below is the email my wife sent out to her family and friends:

Dear Friends and Family,

I am very excited and proud to say that I am participating in Bike MS: Chesapeake Challenge 2015, a 2-day bike ride, held on June 6 – 7 in Easton, MD! I find it hard asking for donations, as I guess we all do, but this is a cause that has become very important and personal for me. I am asking you to join the movement by making a contribution to support my efforts in the fight to create a world free of MS.

The National MS Society is committed to building a movement by and for people with MS that will move us closer to a world free of this disease. Donations collected for Bike MS continuously fund research for a cure, while also providing services and support for those currently living with MS. I am riding because I believe in the mission of the National MS Society. There are more than 2.3 million people affected by MS worldwide and every donation will help us END MS forever.

The movement is personal for me, as many of you know. It has been over a year since I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I can honestly say, a lot has changed since then. I wasn't exactly sure what I was thinking when I signed up for the bike ride last year. I've never been particularly into cycling, and I didn't feel quite ready to talk about my diagnosis, much less fund raise for the cause. But when I saw the video on the Bike MS website I was inspired and felt like I had to get involved. The experience was incredible; there were so many amazing people that were so passionate about the cause. The memories I made over those two days were priceless, and I can't wait to do it again! It was the love and support of my close friends and family that helped me deal with the shock of such a diagnosis. After initially feeling anxious and isolated, my involvement with the National MS Society has helped me connect with so many new people and feel empowered. I continue to feel good and I am ready to challenge myself, yet again, with this bike ride. I know this will be another extraordinary experience, and I am so excited to be a part of it. Please help by making a donation or joining my team.

Join me, and together we can create a world free of MS. Thank you so much for your continued love and support. It truly means the world to me! I will keep you posted on my progress.
