D.C. Man Gets 17.5 Years In Sex Abuse Of Young Girl

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A District of Columbia man has been sentenced to 17.5 years in prison for taking a 9-year-old girl to his government office in Prince George's County for sex.

Fifty-three-year-old Kevin Robinson was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland. He pleaded guilty in September as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Robinson's attorney has declined to comment on the case.

Prosecutors say Robinson sexually abused a 9-year-old girl in October 2013 in his car and at his workplace at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center in Greenbelt.

Prosecutors say the girl told her parents about the abuse when Robinson, a family acquaintance, dropped her off at home. They say a DNA sample taken from the girl matched Robinson's saliva.

Robinson must register as a sex offender upon his release.
