Ravens To Terminate DT Cody Following Super Bowl

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Baltimore Ravens said the team will terminate the contract of defensive tackle Terrence Cody following the Super Bowl.

Cody was selected in the 2nd round (57th Overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Ravens out of Alabama.

Cody's best year with the Ravens was 2011 when he was a full-time starter registering 34 tackles on the NFL's 2nd rated defense.

Due to performance, health & weight issues, his playing time decreased every year after. Cody only appeared in 1 game in 2014 for the Ravens.

WJZ media partner The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Cody is under investigation for animal cruelty involving a dog:

"Cody is under investigation for animal cruelty, and the case is being discussed with the Baltimore County State's attorney's office, said Elise Armacost, the director of communications for Baltimore County police."

The Baltimore Ravens are aware of the investigation, but did not say that this was their reasoning behind Cody being cut.
