Severn Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting Toddler

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ)—A Severn man has been sentenced to 25 years behind bars after he sexually assaulted a toddler.

According to authorities, back on March of 2014, 22-year-old Darrius Carr moved in with family in order to provide daycare for the couple's young child. On March 7th, while the parents were at work, police say Carr produced six photos and a video of himself and the young girl, and engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

On March 11, 2014, Carr produced another video of himself and the victim, authorities said. The video shows Carr touching the girl and a close of his genitals,

Authorities say since 2012, Carr used his email accounts, online storage accounts, and Instagram account to store and distribute child porn. The files included more than 600 images of prepubescent minors and videos.

Carr was sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release. Carr must register as a sex offender in the place where he resides and where he is an employee.
