Loved Ones Remember Hopkins Lacrosse Player Found Dead This Week

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Painful loss. A vigil is held for a Johns Hopkins University student found dead earlier this week.

Tracey Leong reports hundreds came together inside the campus stadium to remember lacrosse player Jeremy Huber.

Friends and loved ones shared memories of Jeremy Huber--a life they say was cut too short.

On Monday, the 18-year-old Johns Hopkins University freshman was found dead in his dorm room.

"He was a monster physically and there wasn't a mean bone in his body," one teammate said.

Teammates of the lacrosse player gathered on Homewood Field, where Jeremy never had the chance to play on.

"We're pretty sure that the snow is Jeremy's joke for all of us," his mother, Nancy Huber, said.

Hundreds covered the icy field, candles in hand, showing Jeremy's parents how much the athlete will be missed.

"I'm amazed at how fast he got to know all you guys and how fast he developed the relationships that I know would have lasted the rest of his life," said Bob Huber, Jeremy's father.

Jeremy Huber's No. 19 has been painted on the field, where they plan to have it stay for the season.

The cause of Huber's death is still being investigated. Police do not suspect foul play.
