Motorcycle Enthusiasts Gather For Timonium Motorcycle Show

TIMONIUM, Md. (WJZ)--Motorcycles are zooming into town this weekend.

As Mike Schuh reports, a fascinating collection of people and their machines are now at the Timonium Fair Grounds.

Come for the bikes, stay for the people this is motivational speaker Benka Pulko.

Schuh: "So for what you do would this work?

Pulko: "It's a beautiful color, but i'm not so sure."

Schuh: "So this is a stretched chopper, does this work for what you do?"

Pulko: "Definitely not."

But a few feet away…

Schuh: "Benka, how about this dirty machine?"

Pulko: "Yes, that's my type of the boy."

She rode around the world on this motorcycle, a feat that got her into the record books.

"Actually there are four, my trip is still regarded as the longest trip, solo motorcycle journey done by woman, done by time and the distance," said Pulko.

She now lugs her bike around the world to inspire others with this simple message, "Everything is possible."

Believe it, she talked BMW out of this bike before she even had her motorcycle license.

"Life is very simple if you let it happen for you make it happen, everything is possible," said Pulko.

From world traveler to traveling in new worlds.

"And we're going to spend 2 weeks travelling around Cuba."

This is Bob, of Bob's BMW. In 3 weeks, he's taking 10 Marylanders, and 4 others on a journey of a lifetime.

"Unless you're standoffish, you're just mobbed. People want to see the motorcycles, sit on them see what it does, so the people to people stuff is just off the charts," said Bob.

"It looks so different when it's dry," said David Uhl.

David Uhl is called the Norman Rockwell of motorcycle art, his work is in the collections of movie stars--Jay Leno and Pope Francis.

"It's a dream job. It's not a job, I would do it even if I didn't get paid," said Uhl.

But Uhl gets a $100,000 for the originals a few thousand for prints.

Beyond the bikes there are plenty interesting people here.

That show is open now, and runs Saturday and Sunday.
