Private Funerals Planned For Annapolis Mansion Fire Victims
ANNAPOLIS (WJZ) -- A family is planning to lay six of its family members to rest after they were killed in a fire in Annapolis last month.
According to the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, P.A. website, private funerals have been planned for Don Pyle and his wife Sandy Pyle and their four grandchildren, who were killed in the early morning hours of January 19 at Don's home on Childs Point Road.
The children -- sisters Alexis and Katilyn Boone, and siblings Charlotte and Wesley Boone -- had spent the day with the grandparents and were having a sleepover.
It took a week for investigators to find the remains of the six victims as they searched the scene where the once 16,000-square foot house turned to rubble.
Fire officials learned the blaze began in the home by the Christmas tree after a electrical fire broke out. The Pyles had left the Christmas lights on when they had gone to bed and although the smoke alarms went off in the home, they did not have a sprinkler system installed. Their cause of death was due to heat and smoke inhalation.
