WEATHER BLOG: Spring, Finally

The first full day of spring will be more seasonable across the region!

Be alert for patchy black ice across the region this morning; remnant snow/ice/low level moisture/fog will all be culprits A cold front, currently extending across the upper Great Lakes, will move from northwest to southeast today and tonight, crossing through the Mid-Atlantic this evening. Ahead of the front, temperatures will warm quite nicely as clouds break for some sun this afternoon once a west-southwesterly flow sets in. Isolated showers will accompany the frontal passage this evening.

Expect lots of melting snow today! This can create some issues on roadways with ponding of water. Behind the front, it'll be windy and cooler than usual for this time of the year on Sunday High pressure in control on Monday with sunshine and chilly temperatures once again. The gradient will relax, so it won't be as windy as Sunday, though it can still be on the breezy side. Turning slightly milder for Tuesday as high
pressure remains in control.

A warm front will move toward the region on Wednesday, promoting a quick southeasterly flow and even milder temperatures. There can be a period of rain or showers as the warm front moves through. Milder on Thursday as a cold front pushes toward the region and passes through with some rain With deep trough in the east to end the week, need to watch the chance for coastal storm. This will have an impact on temperatures late in the week. It may be quite chilly for this time of the year to end the month of March and start April!
