Late Late Show Gets A New Host

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A new host has taken the chair on the Late Late Show.

Jessica Kartalija has spoken with James Corden.

He says he's not sure he knows exactly what he's doing in his new role but with a career that's already been a huge success, he says he's ready for his new gig.

He's been a game show host, in the movies and on Broadway. Now James Corden is getting used to his new office. Monday night, Cordon makes his debut on the Late Late Show.

"It's different than anything I have ever done. I don't even really know what I am going to do," he said.

A household name in Britain with 5 million Twitter follows, the 36-year-old actor recently starred in the film "Into the Woods." So what's the transition like?

"I feel very much on my own in this. I know it's my name on the title and I just hope it's good enough," he said.

After breaking through in his 20s in the drama The History Boys, then co-writing and starring in the smash British comedy Gavin and Stacey.

He hit the stage in the comedy One Man, Two Governors. The highlight of his career, he says, was the night it opened on Broadway with his parents in the audience.

He has moved to Los Angeles with his wife and two children; he will host the show in LA.

"I am as anxious to find out what it's like as anyone at home," Corden said.

Corden won a Tony for his performance on Broadway and while he has been hugely successful in Britain, he says he is humbled by the honor of being asked to host the Late Late Show.
