Pop Music Icon Hits The Stage In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--He's one of pop music's greatest artists and tonight he takes the stage in Baltimore performing what's recognized as one of the greatest record albums of all time.

Ron Matz reports fans of Stevie Wonder can't wait for "Songs in the Key of Life".

"I am in the house as they would say, I will be there tonight," one fan said.

Tonight Stevie Wonder brings his classic album "Songs in the Key of Life" to the Royal Farms Arena.

The double album was released in 1976. The album immediately went to number one and won the Grammy for Album of the Year.

Tons of equipment are being loaded in for tonight's show. Today Hopkins Place is Stevie Wonder way--it's the hottest ticket in town.

"I love Stevie Wonder because he's a classic. He's still touching people…he has all his life," said Valerie Seaberry. "Stevie Wonder is so good and I appreciate the fact that 'Songs in the Key of Life' is a classic--everybody should have at least one copy."

Stevie Wonder will hit the stage tonight at 8:00 p.m. and will run for three hours.

"Everything about his music is beautiful, it enhances humanity," said J Soul, a Baltimore musician.

Songs in the Key of Life contains 21 songs. Stevie Wonder also produced and arranged the album.

In his legendary career he has won 25 Grammy awards, the most ever for a male solo artist and sold more than one hundred million records.
