Officer Strikes Couple Pushing Baby Stroller While Responding To Call

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) -- A Baltimore County police officer struck a pedestrian couple pushing a stroller with his cruiser while he was responding to a call shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, the officer was responding to an assault call at the Hot Skates Ice Rink when he struck the couple at the intersection of Whitehead and Woodlawn. The couple was pushing a baby stroller; police believe the stroller was not hit.

The car was traveling at about 50 miles an hour. Police say the officer did have lights and sirens on.

The victims were later identifed as 18-year-old Desaree Tasha Blick, 18-year-old Stephon Nathaniel Beale, and 9-month-old Deomonte Terrell Blick.

Police say all three are expected to survive. The infant appeared to have suffered no injures, but was transported as a precautionary measure.

The officer whose identity is still unknown, was not injured in the incident.
