Pedestrian Struck, Killed In Pasadena

PASADENA, Md. (AP/WJZ) -- Anne Arundel County officials say a man was struck by a vehicle and killed while trying to cross a road in Pasadena.

The Capital reports that fire department spokesman Capt. Russ Davies says paramedics responded to a call in the 2800 block of Mountain Road around 11:30 p.m. Sunday and found the man dead.

Police say the man was dropped off on the north side of Mountain Road and was wearing all black clothing as he crossed outside a crosswalk. The driver notified authorities and police say there's no evidence to suggest the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs or speeding.

The driver was identified as Rodger Louis Smith. The pedestrian was identified as John Francis Thomas IV.
