WESTMINSTER, Md. (WJZ) — The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office evacuated Westminster High School Thursday after the school received a bomb threat.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the school around 12:10 p.m. after a suspicious note was found in a classroom.
Due to the nature of the note, school officials evacuated the building.
A sheriff’s investigation shutdown roads leading to the school. K-9 teams checked the school, but no threat was detected.
Students and staff were brought back inside the school around 1:45 p.m.
Around 2:27 p.m., the sheriff’s office said students were released for afternoon dismissal.
