Feral Cat Tests Positive For Rabies
BEL AIR, Md. (WJZ) -- A cat from a feral colony tested positive for rabies, the Harford County Health Department reported Thursday.
The cat originated from a colony on Scarboro Road near the Harford County Waste Disposal center where it was being fed along with other strays and feral cats.
A local resident brought the car into a local veterinarian after she noticed the cat was behaving unusually. The cat was euthanized after the symptoms were consistent with rabies.
If you have been bitten, scratched or licked by any stray cats in the area within the last six months, contact the Harford County Health Department at 410-612-1774.
