Dave Johnson, Orioles commentator for MASN, joined Vinny and Rob to talk about the monumental beatdown the O’s put on the Phillies yesterday at the Yard.

The O’s hit a record 8 home runs on their way to a 19-3 win. Chris Parmalee debuted for the club in a big way with two homers, Manny Machado added two of his own as well. Dave says they will definitely “feel confident” as the series shifts to Philly, but must forget about it. They can’t live off what they did yesterday.

Vinny then asked about the situation with Chen, in which he was sent down to single-A. Johnson noted there is definitely a language barrier, and although Chen may be upset about the move, it comes down to what is best for the team.

With the return of J.J. Hardy the defense has been playing very well. Johnson states how players always go through slumps or hot streaks, but the defense will continue to be there for the O’s.
