Family, Friends Mourn Slain Ice Cream Truck Driver

WINFIELD, Md. (AP/WJZ) -- Friends and family members are mourning a Frederick ice cream truck driver who was fatally shot earlier this month while children waited in line.

The family of 22-year-old Brandon Brown scheduled a funeral service Tuesday in Winfield, followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery in Germantown.

Brown died June 13 while selling ice cream at the Lucas Village public housing community in Frederick. He also worked as plumber's assistant.

The family raised funds for Brown's funeral through Go Fund Me.

Twenty-seven-year-old Larnell Lyles is charged with first-degree murder in the slaying. He hasn't entered a plea.

Lyles' preliminary hearing is set for July 9.
