Award-Winning 'Pippin' Comes To The Hippodrome

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--The Tony Award winning musical Pippin arrives in Baltimore! The circus-inspired revival is only in town at the Hippodrome Theater this week.

Tracey Leong explains why you won't want to miss it.

The hit musical Pippin is a universal story that has been reimagined for a new generation.

Daring circus performances soar across the stage. Winner of four Tony Awards, including best Musical Revival.

"For those people who saw that original Pippin, this is a complete restaging, of reconceptualizing," Adrienne Barbeau.

The original Pippen launched on Broadway in 1972--four decades later--the story of a young prince searching for meaning in life is vamped up.

"We have half musical theater half circus performers, and we all do 50/50 and trying to make the story even more fruitful," said Viktoria Grimmy.

This play filled with jaw dropping moments keeping the whole audience energized.

"Saying you really inspired me, I'm going to go out and take chances and live in the moment, which is what Berthe is all about," Barbeau says.

Adrienne Barbeau plays Pippin's grandmother at 70, demonstrating it's never too late to seize the moment. A life lesson the cast is hoping people walk away with.

"There is really no time at all than to live right now," Grimmy says.

"You cannot control what comes next, we have no idea what comes next, and all we have is the moment, you have to learn to live in the moment," said Barbeau.

The musical Pippin will be running through Sunday.
