Maryland State Trooper Charged In Sex Offense

FT. WASHINGTON, Md. (WJZ) -- A 43-year-old Maryland State Trooper has been charged with a sex offense in Prince George's County.

Brian Tucker, of Fort Washington, was charged by the Prince George's County Police Department Monday in connection with a sexual offense that occurred while Tucker was off-duty.

Around 2 a.m., an officer was on patrol in the area of Rochell Avenue and Hazelwood Drive, when he spotted an SUV parking in the cul-de-sac of a commercial area.

When he went to investigation he saw Tucker and a victim standing outside the vehicle.

The woman told the PGPD officer that Tucker was armed and Tucker identified himself as a Maryland State Trooper.

After a preliminary investigation, police report that Tucker and the woman agreed to engage in a sex act in exchange for money, but during that encounter, Tucker forced her at gunpoint to engage in an addition act against her will.

Tucker was charged with a first-degree sex offense and a handgun charge. The gun was not the trooper's duty weapon.

Tucker has been employed by Maryland State Police for 18 years and is assigned to the automotive safety enforcement division.

He was suspended without pay.

An internal affairs investigation has been initiated and will be completed following the criminal investigation.
