Who Is Baltimore's Interim Commissioner Kevin Davis?

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Kevin Davis takes the rein as Baltimore's top cop on Wednesday afternoon after Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announces a change of command within the Baltimore Police Department.

Davis began his career his career with the Prince George's County Police Department in 1992 and appointed to Deputy Chief in 2009. In 2013, he became the Police Chief for Anne Arundel County for a short time until resigning from his post in December of 2014. Davis was named Deputy Commissioner for the Baltimore Police Department in January of 2015 leading up to his new post as Interim Police Commissioner.

Davis is a Maryland native, born and raised in College Park. He has a long history of working with residents and truly embodying the concepts of community policing.

The Interim Commissioner is married and a father of four children.

During Wednesday's press conference, Davis thanked Batts for all he's done for Baltimore City and says his immediate focus is the crime fight and building relationships.
