Police Searching For Suspect Who Struck Officer In Oxon Hill

OXON HILL, Md. (WJZ) -- A second Prince George's County police officer is injured following a hit-and-run incident.

It happened just after 1:00 a.m. Thursday in the 4400 block of Wheeler Road.

Police say as the officer approached a reported stolen vehicle the driver accelerated, hitting the officer and caused him to flip onto the hood.

The officer was treated for minor injures and has since been released form the hospital

Police say they are searching for 26-year-old Danny Lee Harvell who is facing attempted murder charges.

The suspect was last seen heading into the D.C. area driving a gold 2008 Subaru Outback with  DC tags DT2586.
