Mike Preston covers the Ravens and writes a column for the Baltimore Sun sports section.

Mike joined Ed and Steve to talk about Ravens training camp coming up shortly.

Steve asked Mike about what the Ravens biggest concerns are going into training camp. Mike believes the biggest concern is the secondary. “Where are they compared to last season, they’ve gotten better on paper but that doesn’t guarantee anything.” Another concern heading into camp is how well left tackle Eugene Monroe will play this season. Mike says that “if he can play well our Offensive line will be very good.”

Ed asked Mike about what we should expect from safety Matt Elam. Mike is worried about Elam heading into training camp because he’s a box safety and we’re still questioning his tackling ability. “We’ve got to keep an eye on him.”

Steve asked Mike if fans should believe that the Ravens are improved from last season after all of our off-season moves. Mike does think the team has improved and should do very well this season. “It’s not where you start it’s where you finish, and the Ravens usually finish pretty well.”
