Woman Injured When Vehicle Crashes Into Her Apartment

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—Police in Howard County were called to the scene after a vehicle crashes into an apartment building, injuring one woman inside.

It happened Sunday morning at approximately 9:30 a.m. in the 6800 block of Old Waterloo Road.

Police say 40-year-old Mynor Jehovani Monterroso, of Silver Spring, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S10 when he was attempting to reverse his vehicle, but kept hitting a support pole.

After a brief struggle, the man apparently drove the vehicle through the sliding glass door of an Elkridge apartment hitting a woman inside.

Police say Monterroso fled the scene on foot, but later returned when police arrive on the scene.

He was arrested and charged with driving without a license, negligent driving and failure to control a vehicle in order to avoid a collision.

The victim was injured during the accident. She was transported to Shock Trauma where she is listed in stable condition.

The accident remains under investigation.
