Ravens To Host Military Appreciation Day On Aug. 3
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Baltimore Ravens will hold their annual Military Appreciation Day on Aug. 3.
The event coincides with the team's 7 p.m. open training camp practice at M&T Bank Stadium.
About 3,500 special seats will be reserved for active service members and veterans who present a valid identification -- and immediate family is also welcome to join. Those with valis ID will also be given a special-edition Ravens camouflage hat, while their children will receive a military-themed wristband.
Seating will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Although it is not required, military members are encouraged to attend in their uniforms.
It's the 8th year, the Ravens have had a annual Military Appreciation Day, after head coach John Harbaugh started it during his first season with the team in 2008.
Harbaugh is an advocate of the U.S. Military and was awarded with the NFL's Salute to Service Award in 2013.
Since it's establishment, 8,500 service members have enjoyed the event and the chance to meet players and coaches every summer.
Following the practice will be a fireworks and laser show.
