Ravens Update With Jerry Coleman

Jerry Coleman joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to give us the latest news live from Ravens practice.

With Week 1 of the season quickly approaching, Jerry talked about some major concerns for the Ravens and their fans. One of those concerns is who will be the kick and punt returner for the Ravens? Jerry shed some light on the situation after talking to Coach John Harbaugh. "Right now we're looking at three candidates. Michael Campanaro is listed as the number one on the depth chart as both the kickoff and punt returner. Then you have Lardarius Webb and Steve Smith. Two of the three guys are injury prone and the other guy (Smith) is really old. He (Harbaugh) reiterated that he feels the reward outweighs the risk and feels like one of these three guys will be able to do the job."

Another concern heading into the season is if the Ravens' 26th overall pick Breshad Perriman will be healthy enough to play in week 1. Perriman who hasn't practiced since the first week of training camp does not look likely to play in Sunday's contest with the Broncos. "I don't understand how you can get him on the field in the first few weeks. You have to get him up to NFL game speed. He hasn't played at that level yet and until he's ready for NFL speed...he won't be out there."
