Armed Suspect Caught In Calvert County Car Chase

CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (WJZ) – Calvert County Police were involved in a high-speed car chase Friday morning after an armed suspect fled a sheriff's office.

The driver of the fleeing vehicle was wanted for a domestic assault that happened in Anne Arundel County, and police immediately broadcast a lookout to local counties.

The car was found in the Solomon's area of Calvert County traveling over 100 mph, recklessly weaving through traffic. Southbound Route 4 traffic was stopped at Broomes Island Road for safety precautions.

The car chase ended when the suspect, Michael David Hussey, 58 of Odenton, crashed into a median and a tree. He was then taken into custody by Sheriff's Office personnel and was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital for injuries got after the collision.

Hussey is facing numerous local charges in addition to the first and second-degree assault charges, reckless endangerment, disorderly and driving on a suspended license that Anne Arundel County charged him with.
