Steve Palazzolo Reviews The Ravens Performance Against The Raiders

Steve Palazzolo is the Senior Analyst at Pro Football Focus, and a contributor at ESPN.com.

Steve joined Ed and Steve to talk about what went wrong for the Ravens last week, and can it be fixed this week against the Bengals.

Steve asked Steve about the performance of the Ravens defense in week 2 against the Raiders. Steve noted that the Ravens pass rush wasn't been good enough in Oakland saying, "I have to start with the pass rush. I know it looked like the coverage failed, but I think the Ravens are starting to see the effects of losing Terrell Suggs to injury and even losing Pernell McPhee this past off season. They just aren't able to affect the quarterback. There are definitely some issues on the back end, but it starts with the pass rush."

Ed asked Steve about the performance of recent additions to the secondary Kyle Arrington and Kendrick Lewis. Steve acknowledged that both players have been known to be inconsistent throughout their careers, "Belichick called Arrington a very streaky corner. I thought he would be a good addition in the slot for Baltimore, but he hasn't been to this point. Lewis is also a hit or miss kind of guy."

Steve went on to discuss the performance of Joe Flacco against the Raiders, as well as what to expect in the week 3 match up with the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
