Flooding Reported In Parts Of Maryland

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Weather advisories are in effect for parts of Maryland on this very wet night. Road closures have been reported in multiple counties.

Heavy rain has left standing water on several Maryland roadways. Conditions seem to be worst in Frederick County; officials warn many roads have standing water. As of 11 p.m., the following roads are currently closed due to high water: Highland Street, 500 block of West Patrick Street, Market St. at South Street, Center Street, West Patrick at Hillcrest Drive.

In Landover, a Prince George's County official warns that high water on the road closed the ramp from the outer loop of the Beltway to eastbound Rt. 50 in Landover.

Officials remind motorists that if you see standing water in the road, don't try and drive through it. It can be difficult to see how deep the water is.

There's a chance for rain every day this week, and this weekend, Marylanders can expect to deal with Tropical Storm Joaquin. The flooding risks will only continue.
