BALTIMORE (WJZ) — As the city ushers in a new top cop, Baltimore continues to deal with challenges, including the aftermath of the riots.

Tracey Leong with desperate calls to track down suspects behind a brutal beating caught on tape.

The ATF is offering a reward to help track down those suspects, who both were caught on city surveillance cameras attacking the victim.

Knocked to the ground with a single punch, and then moments later, kicked in the face and left bleeding in the street. The victim was brutally attacked during April’s unrest in front of a liquor store that was later set on fire.

“We want to make sure the city knows we are going to hold people accountable for their violent actions that took place that day,” said Dave Cheplak, ATF special agent.

ATF is offering two $5,000 rewards for information leading to the arrests of the suspects.

Investigators say the people of Baltimore have been extremely cooperative because their goal is to also help police get those violent criminals off the streets.

“We trust that there will be people who know the individuals. The video is very telling and it’s very clear, and if somebody knows them, they will recognize them. And we’re confident that people, especially when they see that there’s a reward involved, that the citizens, again, will step up,” said Cheplak.

It has been nearly six months since violence swept over Baltimore following the death of Freddie Gray.

Catching violent suspects like these two men remains a priority for police and ATF, helping the city to heal and rebuild.

“We’re going to do everything we need to do to make sure the citizens of the city are kept safe,” Cheplak said.
