Mike Preston covers the Ravens and writes a column for the Baltimore Sun sports section.
Mike joined the rest of the Monday Morning Quarterback crew and gave out his grades for the Ravens 26-18 loss to the Cardinals.
Mike started out by grading the different aspects of the Ravens offense. Mike gave Joe Flacco a grade of C saying “Joe was decent, especially on the short passes, but he failed to deliver on several long ones.” The running backs and receivers also were graded as a C by Mike with the O Line getting a C- with Mike saying “the Ravens were hurt by pressure off the edge, especially that allowed by left tackle Eugene Monroe.”
Mike turned his attention to the defense giving the D Line a grade of B saying “nice performance by this group and the return of end Chris Canty made a big difference.” the linebackers received a C+ as did the secondary with Mike saying “the Ravens cornerbacks have to do a better job of running with receivers downfield and then turning to find the ball.”
Mike gave the special teams a grade of B_, and finished by giving the coaching staff a grade of B saying “the Ravens were physically and mentally prepared to play on the road, something they haven’t been all season.”
