Baltimore Gets Spirited For Halloween
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- If you don't think Halloween is big, the National Retail Federation says Americans will spend nearly $7 billion on costumes, candy and more.
Ron Matz has how Baltimoreans are getting ready for a huge Halloween weekend.
At Geresbeck's in Middle River, there's a spaceship outside and a guy named Donald inside. But, it's the kids who really love Halloween.
They're Halloween ready at Bennett's Curse in South Baltimore with 40,000-square-feet of scary, even a room full of 3-D monsters.
"We're really excited," said Jill Bennett, owner of Bennett's Curse in South Baltimore. "We've more than doubled our previous space."
At Artistic Costumes in Towson, the search is on for that perfect Halloween get up.
"The Pope is hot this year," said Harriet Berlin, owner of Artistic Costumes. "Donald Trump is hot, we've sold out of out Donald Trump masks. Also Game of Thrones and tons of Little Red Riding Hoods."
From pumpkins to Pooh, a Power Ranger and Monster's Mash a Happy Halloween for all.
"I need something not too scary, something more catchy, eye-catchy,' said Jimmy Brown, who was shopping for a costume. "I like Halloween, the outfits, the costumes."
As estimated 68 million Americans will wear costumed this year and that's not all, about 20 million of our pets will be dressed up for Halloween.
