Man Arrested After Shots Fired During Fells Point Halloween Festivities

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore City police arrest a man found armed with a loaded gun after shots were fired during Halloween festivities in Fells Points.

Officers on foot patrol heard gunshots coming from the 600 block of South Broadway Street.

During the investigation, officers saw a man holding a handgun. He then attempted to run from the scene before being caught.

Officers confiscated a handgun along with ammunition from the suspected shooter.

Police say it's fortunate that no one was hurt.

"There were a lot of people out there enjoying the festivities, and as soon as there were gunshots, our officers ran towards those shots. They observed an individual with a handgun, and they gave chase to ensure that no one was injured and this individual was captured," said Jeremy Silbert, Baltimore Police Department.

The suspect, 22-year-old Samuel Coleman, faces several handgun related charged.
