Mike Preston covers the Ravens and writes a column for the Baltimore Sun sports section.

Every Monday morning following a Ravens game Mike gives out his report card to every aspect of the Ravens performance.

Mike started with the offense giving Joe Flacco a grade of A saying “Joe Flacco might have played his best game this season.” Mike graded the skill positions lower than Joe giving the running backs a grade of B- and the receivers a grade of B. As for the offensive lin Mike graded them a D saying “the only player to bring his A game was right guard Marshal Yanda.”

Mike then went to the defense giving the D line a grade of D+ saying “San Diego was without three starting offensinve lineman and still rushed for 81 yards on 26 carries.” The linebackers received a grade of C- as well as the secondary receiving a grade of C- with Mike saying “Coach John Harbaugh raved about this group after the game, but the Chargers still threw for 209 yards.”

Mike gave the special temas a grade of A saying “the Ravens held returner Jacoby Jones in check and returned a punt for 17 yards.” And finally Mike gave the coaching staff a grade of B- saying “Without talent, the Ravens are just trying to find any way the can to win…the Ravens still lack consistency on both offense and defense, but they did win.”
