WESTMINSTER, Md. (WJZ) — Maryland State Police are investigating the death of a wanted man whose body was found in a vacant home in Carroll County.

Brian L. Sampson, 27, was staying with his grandmother in Westminster until two weeks ago.

On Wednesday two detectives from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Westminster Police were looking for Sampson, who was wanted for a violation of parole.

Sampson was wearing a tracking device as a part of his parole. The signal was tracked to an area near a vacant two-story home in the 1000 block of Taneytown Pike.

While searching the house, they found Sampson deceased in the attic.

State Police responded to the scene to begin the investigation and a search warrant was issued on the home.

Investigators found no signs of obvious trauma on Sampson’s body and there was no indication of violence or foul play.

His body was taken to the medical examiner’s officer in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
