Michael McCrary On His Time With The Ravens And Helping The Community Of Baltimore

Michael McCrary is a former NFL defensive end and a Super Bowl Champion with the Baltimore Ravens.

Michael joined Ken, Steve, and Mike Preston to talk about the Ravens outlook at the halfway point.

Steve asked Michael about his work with the Southwest Senior High School football team. Michael noted that he along with the help of many others were able to keep the school's football program going, "they needed football equipment. I called a friend of mine and we were able to get the NFL to donate 100 pairs of equipment. We also were able to get the Ravens and Under Armour involved as well. These kids were going to lose football without the equipment."

Ken asked Michael about the reaction of the players when they received the new football equipment. Michael acknowledged that the players were ecstatic saying, "it was great. The kids had no idea why we were pulling boxes out of the van. When they saw the equipment the whole place went crazy. It was probably one of the best feelings I've felt in years. There are so many really beautiful components to this."

Mike asked Michael about the support of the community in helping Southwest Senior High School. Michael has been very impressed with the community's response saying, "this really is a community initiative. It has absolutely changed this community. Everyone has come together to watch football on Saturdays."

Michael went on to discuss Derwin Hannah's work in the Baltimore community and the support he has received from various members of the community including former Raven's running back Ray Rice.
