4 Arrested After Assaulting State Trooper In Carroll County

MOUNT AIRY, Md. (WJZ) – Maryland State Police arrested four suspects accused of assaulting a police officer at a local store in Carroll County.

According to police, suspects Traci and Steven Conners went into the bathroom of the store and attacked a state trooper. While he was on the ground, he was kicked in the head several times by another suspect.

State Trooper Johnathan Horner, 23, is a four year veteran of the Maryland State Police, and he was assigned to the Westminster Barrack in Carroll County. He was transported to the hospital after additional troopers arrived on the scene.

The first suspect, Traci Conners, 42, was charged with second degree assault on police and disorderly conduct. She's currently being held at the Carroll County Detention Center, along with Jacob Conners, 17, and Steven Conners, 19, who are facing similar charges.

The fourth suspect, Emily Anthony, 19, was also charged with disorderly conduct and is being held at the same detention center.

Brass knuckles and a knife were seized from the suspects after the arrest, which the suspects had previously tried to flush down the bathroom toilet, police said.
