Man Sexually Assaulted At D.C. Gas Station Speaking Out

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- When two women were caught on video sexually assaulting a man at a Washington, D.C. gas station, the story caught the nation's attention.

Jessica Kartalija explains the man who called 911 is now speaking out.

He says news reports didn't tell the whole story, and he wants to set the record straight.

Wahsington Tharpe, 40, is the man in the viral video, showing two women twerking, grabbing and touching him.

"It looks like I just had some girls twerking on me and I just called the police. That is not what happened at all," said Tharpe.

The afternoon of October 7, the middle school teacher stopped for gas, pulled out cash to pay--and the twerking was just the beginning.

"So I was like, 'OK, get off me.' I said, 'Alright, stop,'" said Tharpe. "She grabbed my private part in the front and then private part in the back."

Tharpe says so much more was caught on tape--a ten minute ordeal that led him to call 911.

"When I went outside, the girls followed me. The one in the red dress hurried up and jumped in front of me, grabbed the car door, would not allow me to get into the car," he said.

Tharpe says there was a group of men standing nearby.

"I'm thinking they were going to set me up," he said.

He said one of the women then grabbed his arm. The 6'2, 230 pound teacher tried to throw her off him.

"When she caught her phone and got right back up, I'm thinking she's got to be a man," said Tharpe.

Tharpe says he then drove into the car wash.

"When I turned on the car wash, the girls came inside the other way from the exit after me, and I'm thinking, 'Oh, shoot. They're about to kill me.' That's when I called 911," he said.

Last week, 22-year-old Ayanna Marie Knight of Las Vegas was arrested and charged with third-degree sexual abuse. A second woman remains wanted for her role in the incident.

The story went viral everywhere, with over a million views on the Internet.
