Credit Union's Ex-CEO Pleads Guilty To More Than $100K Theft
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- The former CEO of HealthCare United Federal Credit Union has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $100,000 from the institution.
The Baltimore Sun reports that 44-year-old Tina Galloway of Fallston pleaded guilty Wednesday in Baltimore County Circuit Court to one count of felony theft over $100,000.
The Towson credit union serves employees of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center and Sheppard Pratt Hospital.
Prosecutor Adam Lippe says Galloway has paid $90,000 in restitution, but still owes $40,000. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 4.
Galloway's husband, county Police Sgt. Daniel Galloway, was also charged in the case and has been suspended without pay.
