Skier Bode Miller's Horse Wins Maryland Juvenile At Laurel

LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- Ravenheart won the $50,000 Maryland Juvenile Futurity by a head Saturday at Laurel for owner and Olympic ski champion Bode Miller.

Ridden by Forest Boyce, Ravenheart ran seven furlongs in 1:25.64 and paid $10.80, $5.20 and $3.40.

Flash McCaul returned $4.20 and $2.80, while It's the Journey was another 3 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $3 to show.

Ravenheart won his debut Oct. 3 at Delaware Park before finishing fourth in the Maryland Million Nursery on Oct. 17 and sixth in the Remsen at Aqueduct on Nov. 28.

Trainer Francis Abbott II said Miller wasn't in attendance, but the skier saw one of his seven 2-year-olds win earlier in the month. The horse runs under Miller's stable name of DB Dojo LLC.
