WEATHER BLOG: Cooler Conditions On Tap

Showers, or even a period of steadier rain will move through the area this evening as a cold front presses its way through. Drier and colder air will then advect into the region as winds shift out of the north later tonight. Some sunshine will prevail early on Monday and it will be much chillier than today with the northeast wind and wedge of cold air setting up. High temperatures will be mostly in the 40s, which is pretty close to average for this time of year. Modeling looks fairly consistent, showing a large, upper low and associated cold front lifting into the Great Lakes on Tuesday. Precipitation will develop from southwest to northeast tomorrow night and it will become moderate to heavy at times. Rain will linger through the first half of the day on Tuesday before tapering off midday. Quiet weather returns for Tuesday night and early Wednesday with a wave of low pressure bringing the next chance of rain Wednesday afternoon into the night.
